The streaming and music industry have finally collided. Music and streaming have been drawing closer since Adin Ross (popular kick streamer), brought rappers on his twitch live streams. This allowed other streamers, like Kai Cenat and plaqueboymax, to bring artists on the live stream.
These connections would help boost not only the rapper’s, but the streamer’s career as well. Plaqueboymax took this to a greater extent. He started off with making music and having his community, 5$tar, participate in song and diss wars. Underground rappers and other artists were welcomed to his stream to showcase their talents. Eventually he started his “in the booth” series, where he would make songs with artists and post them on his label channel 5$tar records. This allowed for the artists to have more exposure on a more well known platform. Rapper DDG, also known as Darryl Dwayne Granberry Jr, would come on the live stream and make the hit song Pink Dreads. This leads to more interactions between music and streaming.
